Like most bloggers, when I started my blog, I didn’t have a lot of ideas for posts. But over the past 16 months, I’ve learned quite a few tips and tricks to always have inspiration.
Today, I’m going to share my top seven of those tips with you.
1. Write Down Every Idea
My number one tip for never running out of blog post ideas is to write down every idea that comes to mind, no matter how big or small. That way, when you need to write a blog post, you can reference your list of inspiration and become excited to write.
2. Write About Your Strengths
I’m sure you have things that you’re good at. Make a list of the topics that you know a lot about and start writing blog posts about them. Maybe you’re amazing at making New York Style Cheesecake or perhaps you’re good at Search Engine Optimization. Whatever it is, write about and share how learning to do that thing helped you become a better person.
3. Write About Your Weaknesses
I’ve heard it said that we teach best what we need to learn most. If you’re struggling with something, whether it’s productivity, inspiration, or anything else, research it and write about it. Share your story, where you started and how far you’ve come. Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable.
4. Other bloggers
Whenever I’m reading other blogs, I’m constantly thinking about how I can make some of their topics my own. Use other’s ideas as inspiration for your own blog. Sometimes a sentence in a post or an idea will jump out at me and I’ll write it down for later.
5. Research Your Ideal Audience and Find Out Their Weaknesses
I recently dove into who I wanted to be my ideal audience. That included making lists of what their strengths and weaknesses could be. Now, because I have an understanding of the type of content they are looking for, I have a kind of extensive list of inspiration for blog posts.
6. Be Creative
Over the past few months, I’ve learned how to take one topic and turn it into multiple blog post ideas. Whether that’s sharing reasons to do something, tips to do that thing, or sharing a story about how something helped me. Learning how to think creatively about any topic is what’s helped me never run out of blog post ideas.
I get a lot of my blog post ideas from Pinterest. When I’m researching a topic, I’ll typically search it on Pinterest to find blog posts about the topic. Once I further understand the topic, I can draw inspiration from the titles of those posts to make it my own.
I know blogging is a lot of work, and coming up with ideas of topics to write about can sometimes be even harder. Hopefully, this blog post helped you brainstorm many blog post ideas. That way, you’ll never have to look at a blank document with no idea of what to write ever again.
Which of these tips are you going to implement? Because understanding how to do something is useless if you never put that knowledge into practice.
